Shondra Walker
Shondra Walker is an educator and high school administrator in the San Joaquin Valley in central California, where she has lived for most of her life. Her career has introduced her to many students who have overcome the unimaginable and she is constantly inspired by their resiliency and determination. In fact, her main characters often steal the show with these same characteristics.
Her favorite part of being an English teacher was building a massive classroom library and helping students find the right book at the right time. She hopes that her stories might one day find their way into the hands of a child looking for the right book.
When she isn’t writing, you can find her commuting to work and listening to audiobooks by her favorite authors, cheering on her boys at their year-round swim meets, or fueling her coffee obsession, which she blames on her college job as a barista. She became a photographer to take better photos of her kids and dreams up story ideas while walking around the school campus or taking her Jack Russell Terrier on long walks around the neighborhood.
Shondra is a first-generation college graduate and has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education. She is married to her best friend and together they have three young boys.
