Laura Wareck is a young adult author, writer, and communications professional, who currently serves as the director of media relations for Simmons University. Previously, she was a journalist and worked at one of the largest public affairs firms in New England, O’Neill, and Associates, where she provided public relations, crisis communications, and media outreach services.
A former competitive swimmer, Laura swam for 17 years at the club, high school, and collegiate levels. A huge book lover, she completed her first story – “Teasing Chuck” about her beloved mutt Charlie – at the age of seven. She is a graduate of Kenyon College and earned an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. Laura currently resides in Swampscott, Massachusetts with her two cocker spaniels and two black cats. When she’s not writing you can find her swimming, paddleboarding or strolling the beach while practicing appropriate social distancing.
